Lefthanded Gayang

A very old North Borneo "gayang" .

The wooden scabbard with nice carved details.

The curved non convex blade with nice krowit ( hooks)

and somewhat faded engravings.

The antler hilt with different design of both sides.

On front a spirit figure having one arm on his belly while on the left a head of an animal ( snake?) is looking out to scare away bad spirits or " antu's".

Scabbard has light restore.

This sword is made for a left-handed person.

Left handed mandaus and galants are not often seen.
