A very nice Jimpul from West Borneo with heavy blade.

The spine and beginning of the blade just below the handle inlayed with brass strips

Original scabbard with forked end and textile band with tassels.

The handle is nicely carved and different on both sides.

On one side a crawling lizard figure is crawling up.

Provenance: We bought it from a family who have lived and

worked since the 19th century in Indonesia.
