This type with those very fine carved dog heads and very finely openwork carved spirals
is often made as gift to make impression on Dutch administrators or governors.
The quality of the carving is very high combined with very fine plait work of the grip.
The scabbard is very complete with some beadwork, sideknife en nice toggle.
The blade is the typical plain late 19th century example.
Some light traces of old protective lack, some restore.
