North Nias Adu

Nias Adu ancestor figure.

Very nice old statue with clear traces on belly and hat of former rattanbindings.

This figure was part of a row of many figures.

The arms produces the  "W"  configuration..

The cilindrical belly is typical for North Nias statues.

North Nias was earlier influenced by other cultures and religions than the south.

This resulted in a different art style and earlier loss of traditions like the use of Adu's.

One age crack.

Size total: 22,5 cm.
