A so called " Gayang" a mandal-like sword with non convex blade from North Borneo.

This example is very well designed with nice antler handle the front with spirit figure.

Below the figure a bundle of human hair partly in very fine plaited strings.

Silver wire grip and silver ferule.

The blade with the typical North Borneo engravings , brass dot intervals and openworked scrolls at the tip. The front of the scabbard in luxury hardwood with nice old patina.
