Mandau Sarawak

A mandau from Sarawak ,the interesting carved hilt with two different sides.

On top a very nice spirit figure mask with below his feet a monster head with large fangs out of his mouth. The scabbard with a fancy " twist' motif near the entrance.

Blade with fading engravings and brass inlay.

Scabbard with some light damage.

Probably a very old Kayan example.
