Mandau Oldie

A very old mandau from South Borneo with antler ( Rusa Unicolor) carved handle. The scabbard with inlay star motif and nice other small details. 

Thick blade inlayed with brass dots.

The handle with large carved curl , the ancestor of the later typical Modang spirals. 

On top a mystical abstract face that can be read in two different way.

On back of the scabbard and old label with earlier auction date from 1943.
