Extremely scarce barkcloth jacket from West Borneo. Its made of a high quality barkcloth and beautifully painted with traditional motifs. It is in style comparable with the seven barkcloths in the Leiden museum from serie 2292. Collected before 1935, most likely coming from an exhibition held in 1929 where artisans ( Matan , Mualangs,Batang Lupar) from West Borneo where invited to demonstrate their skills.
