Mentawai shield

Highly scarce Mentawai shield with beautifull painted spiralmotifs.The handguard of a half coconut .

Two glued cracks, light damage and two tiny pieces restored.

provenance : Ex Knil Luitenant Van Boxtel , who served the army  till the WO2 . I bought this piece together with some arrows from his grandson.
